Richard Nielson, a wonderful therapist and friend, once said to me, “If you could understand the process by which you have healed yourself, you could help many others to heal.”

"Descend from the head into their heart, then you will see all thoughts clearly as they move before the eye of your sharp-sighted mind. But until you descend into the heart, do not expect to have due discrimination of thoughts."

Alternative Healing - Heal the Illness Not Just the Symptoms

Many people fear Alternative Healing or are simply unsure of its potential to help with making them well. Westerners are accustomed to heading to a medical doctor when they have an ailment, which is not necessarily bad, but you should also know that in addition to your medical doctor, you have other options to make you whole. Often, traditional medicine and alternative actually work together, because healing consists of getting the person to place of wholeness, and what steps are taken are not necessarily the most important, it is getting the person to a place of wellness, whatever methods are used.

When it comes to Alternative Healing, you have many choices, but the goal is the same, which is to offer healing from the inside out. In other words, if you have symptoms in your body that is causing you pain, finding the source of this pain is the only way to resolve the problem. For instance, if you have broken leg, you can try to treat what you can visibly see, such as the swelling with ice, but until you go to the source (the broken bone) and reset it, the problem will never fully go away.

With Alternative Healing, it typically deals with areas that fall out of the range of traditional medicine. For instance, many of the healing techniques deal with the energy healing, which is the balancing of energy levels within the body. When energy flows through the body freely, healing can then occur. Moreover, other alternative methods of healing include massage, aromatherapy, acupuncture, herbalism, theta healing, homeopathy, and Naturopathy, to name a few. The fact is, if you have an illness or suspect you do, there are ways of dealing with your pain or discomfort in other ways that can complement traditional medicine.

This is only called alternative healing in western culture where anything that does not fall into the scientific realm of medicine is considered alternative. Many people find more benefits from treatments that deal with the whole person, than just taking a pill to mask the symptoms. For instance, if you have unexplained migraines and you take medication to control the symptoms of the migraines, but never find out what is the cause is, then you may be masking what is really going on in your body. When choosing to use alternative medicine, the goal is to find out what is causing the migraines, because once you find the cause, you will no longer need the medication to help with the pain.

Finally, if you have an illness or suspect you do, never be afraid to seek out Alternative Healing because it is your life, and this type of healing is less invasive and gentler than traditional medicine. Moreover, traditional medicine is useful in conjunction with alternative options; it can complement your treatment quite well.
